Golden Cascade

Sometimes you strike lucky. This was the first image I took last night upon setting up on a volcanic outcrop near Earlsferry. The sun came out and lit the rocks, the low sun was uplighting the distant clouds and a wave crashed in washed around my wellies and cascaded down the rocks.

I will be giving a talk in the new year about my landscape photography in St Andrews and it will include some tips and tricks on capturing images like this. A lot is planning and experience but there's a few other techniques that improve ones luck. Please contact me if your interested in attending.

Last Orders Please

Just a quick note to say the cut off for wedding prints and framed landscapes for Christmas is the 30th November. The album cut off has now passed.

Red Alert

A windy wild day is perfect for a visit to Shell Bay, my favourite location on the Fife Coast for dramatic seascapes.

Sure enough I got wet feet and legs taking this image but the result is very satisfying. More soon from this trip.

Tea and Biscuits

Visited an old church on the Fife Coast for a winter wedding I am commissioned for and discovered this old jetty in a private garden.

Not only did I get permission to photograph the jetty during last light but the owner offered me some hot tea with chocolate biscuits.

Not for Turning

Returned one bitter cold evening to the location of the image that won me the title of Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year 2008.

Beautiful last light illuminated the old windmill that used to help dewater the salt pans at Elie in Fife. This is such a beautiful coastline.

Peaty Waters

The recent heavy rain saw the village on flood alert again. Thankfully the rain stopped and the burns quickly subsided,

The spate and the autumn colour did however allow me to capture an image I have been waiting five years to capture.

Happy Halloween

It was freezing cold but great fun. My son terrorised the neighbour hood with his zombie mask while the pumpkins stood guard on the door step.

Some great displays this year especially the house on Bridgefauld Road with the giant spider and cackling door bell. The dead surfers were also a highlight.
