Kitchin Art

Last Saturday I was at the award winning restaurant "The Kitchin" to photograph some little details which eventually will be framed and put on the walls throughout the restaurant. Attached are a few of my favourites.

Ballochneck House

My last booking for 2007 will be at a Ballochneck House near Buchlyvie. Attached are a few images from the house which has an amazing dining room and conservatory. The master bedroom also has a wonderful sleigh bed.

You also get amazing views such as this rainbow which I photographed near Doune. The lovely fairy meanwhile is over the fireplace in the drawing room. A luxurious venue which also does romantic breaks - highly recommended.

Michelin Star Winner

On Saturday morning I was at "The Kitchin" in Edinburgh. Tom Kitchin is the youngest ever chef in Scotland to be awarded a Michelin Star. My brief was to capture Tom in action preparing fresh produce for the lunchtime menu.

Tom's philosophy is nature to plate and he only uses the very freshest local ingredients for his award winning food. Some of the best food I have ever eaten has been in this restaurant, Tom is clearly a rising star in the culinary world.

Old and Tired

Here's another landscape from my trip last weekend to Glensherrup. The soft light enabled me to frame this interesting weathered boat resting against the rickety wicker pier.

I also like how the lines and colours of the pier mirror the lines and colours of the cleared area of forest on the opposite side of the reservoir. I think the broody sky also works well in this image.

Having a laugh

I have been testing Lightroom's black and white conversion tools and I have to say I am very impressed. Here's one of my youngest son, he's seven later this month and wants to adopt a seahorse!
