Fire in the Sky

Landscape photography requires patience. Two and half hours scouting for a strong graphic element to place against what I hoped would be a spectacular winter sunset and nothing happened.

Returning to the car a little part of the sky opened up with fantastic deep blues and pinks. What followed was a rapid hike up a steep hill and two photographs before the sky turned sludge grey.

Will you travel?

As we approach mid January the wedding enquiries are starting to flood in. One questions I am often asked is how far will you travel? The answer is I cover the whole of Scotland, but for distant weddings, may charge a small surcharge for petrol and an overnight stay.

I now offer pre wedding shoots for couples who book my services. The image above was taken at City Quay, Dundee and is a good example of my environmental black and white portraiture that is popular with my Clients. Yes I do travel to Dundee and beyond for weddings!

Loch Leven Monster

The last couple of weeks have been either dull, damp, grey or slushy snow. On Sunday the sky looked promising at sunset but unfortunately a big bank of snowy clouds rolled in and the light never happened.

Black and White Landscape Loch Leven

Hence I had to satisfy myself with this twisty branch on the foreshore of Burleigh Sands, Loch Leven, Kinross. I am sure this is the same branch I photographed last Summer - please see Stranded.

Children Portraits

I love taking children portraits using specialist lenses and natural light.

A brochure detailing my portrait services will be available later this month.
